Olav Duun's places on Jøa are one of Namsos's Fotefar. Here, visitors can experience the environments that inspired novels and stories about human life, morality and community, including in the masterpiece The People of Juvik. The anniversary year opens with the publication of a new book about Olav Duun. The book consists of 12 articles written by various Norwegian professionals, and is freely available on the internet – so that everyone can gain new knowledge and new perspectives on the author's work. On the occasion of Duun Year, The Norwegian Theatre in Oslo is also staging Fellow Man, one of Duun's most famous novels. The performance helps to highlight a writing that is still relevant, and gives the anniversary year a clear national celebration.
