Summer open road to Hamningberg
Hamningberg, Båtsfjord
Fotefaret Hamningberg is a deserted fishing village on the Varanger Peninsula, known for being one of the few places in Finnmark that was not burned during the German burning of 1944–45. The area preserves approximately 65 historic wooden houses, including sea bows, a boathouse, a sheepfold, a shop and a church, and bears witness to the rich history of stockfish production and the Pomor trade. The fishing village can only be visited in the summer as the road is closed in the winter.

The museum is located in an original German barracks from Dunderlandsdalen and shows the inhumane conditions thousands of Eastern European prisoners of war lived under while building roads and railways in Nordland.

Summer open at Jennestad Handelssted

Jennestad was a lively trading post from the 19th century until 1982, and today the historic building is open during the summer season with guided tours and exhibitions of authentic goods from a bygone era. The pier also houses a museum shop with handicrafts, postcards, sweets and local history literature, and is located 8 km northwest of Sortland, just off the main road.

Guided tour of Rallarveien
Rallarveien, Narvik
The excursion starts at Narvik Train Station with a train ride to Katterat Station, before continuing on foot on the historic Rallarveien to Rombaksbotn, with spectacular scenery and exciting history. In Rombaksbotn, campfire coffee and snacks are served, and the trip ends with a RIB boat ride back to Narvik.
